Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) systems are designed to provide a single database of a company's contacts. Rather than having multiple databases with lots of duplicated contacts, the idea is to have one contact for each customer or sales prospect with a list of all the transactions between the company and that particular contact.
Each time a visitor to one of our web sites fills in a form or checkout page their details are compared with the database. If an existing record is found, then the details are updated and the new transaction is appended to his/her record. This ensures that databases are kept as clean as possible. The added benefit is that the visitor is actually updating their own record.
Built into the Omniweb CRM are several additional tools that allow our web site clients to add records themselves for clients who contact by phone. They can also produce reports and export data for use in other systems. If a visitor has subscribed to a newsletter, the CRM system is also used as a source for email marketing. It is very simple to build attractive HTML emails and send these out to subscribers.
